Introductory Questions

1.Hi, my name is Helen Piloto, I am a junior in Sam Fox studying Communication Design with a minor in HCI.

2.My background is in visual arts, but have spent the past three years focusing on design. I found the minor of HCI intresting, although I am not tech saavy, I really enjoy the UX part of it

3.I took CS131, and have an Hello World page, that is all my expierence so far!

4.I hope to understanding front end coding , and be able to create something with CSS and HTML

5.I expect designing from a screen to be a bit more precise than on paper. I know how it feels to design a website/app on Figma but I believe coding it might be a bit more tedious and have quite a learning curve.

6. Adobe - aesthetically pleasing, easy to use, very organized

7. Reddit - even though reddit is a bit unorganized because there are so many conversations, it allows for a lot of interaction between users and you can easily find information. It has good filtering and moderated, checking the validity of threads

8. Netflix - Netflix is able to communicate many different generes and considers users prefrences by recommending movies and featuring their favorite generes.
